Anything can put a dashboard on your data. The question your CFO will ask is where a number came from — so every one of ours answers it.

  • Three pricing methods, always stated: physics-based, capacity-based, or measured directly from the meter — shown on the face of every finding.
  • 16 of the 96 rules are diagnostic and claim no dollars at all, by design. Comfort and sensor problems are still surfaced and ranked — just never inflated into savings.
  • Explicit confidence on every estimate, driven by data length and whether equipment capacities were confirmed — not a vague score.
  • Cascading faults are suppressed, so one root cause is not counted five times.
  • Verification follows IPMVP Option A, B or C, reporting the ASHRAE Guideline 14 fitness metrics (CV(RMSE), NMBE) — so a savings claim can stand up to a utility incentive review.

Frequently asked questions

What data does Energy Agent need?

Twelve months of interval electricity data at 15-minute or hourly resolution (your utility provides it, often as Green Button), a BAS or BMS trend export if you have one, and a recent utility bill so savings are priced at your real tariff. Nothing is installed in the building.

How are savings priced?

Three methods, always stated on the finding: physics-based (a rule-specific model of the wasted energy), capacity-based (equipment capacity, duty and fault hours) or measured directly from the meter. Every number is priced at your actual tariff, including demand charges, with the assumptions listed.

What is a diagnostic rule?

A rule that surfaces a comfort, reliability or data-quality problem but claims no dollar savings, by design. Sixteen of the 96 rules are diagnostic; a biased sensor or an under-ventilated classroom is still ranked, just never inflated into savings.

How long does an analysis take?

Typically a few days from receiving the data. Once a building is set up, monitoring runs on its own and a weekly digest reports what is new, what persists and what your team cleared.

What do we receive?

A prioritised fault list with dollars per year, effort and payback; a work list with owners and due dates; an interactive report and a board-ready deck carrying your branding; and the calculation packages behind every number.

Which faults does it detect?

96 rules across whole-building meters, air handlers (including ASHRAE Guideline 36 fault conditions FC01–FC16), VAV boxes, zones and indoor air quality, central plant, packaged rooftop units, heat pumps and VRF, and dedicated outdoor-air and exhaust systems. Every rule is explained in the public fault library.
