Privacy notice
What our websites collect, what we do with it and how long we keep it. For the products themselves, see how we protect your data.
What our websites collect
- Standard web access logs: your IP address, country, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string. These are kept for 13 months and used for security and to count visitors.
- A first-party analytics image on our own domain that records which page you were on and which of a small fixed set of actions occurred: an outbound click to one of our tools, a click on one of our own calls to action, a step in the product demo, a form submission. It sets no cookie and sends no identifier. Traffic reports built from it contain counts only.
- One value in your browser’s local storage that remembers your light-or-dark theme choice. Nothing else is stored in your browser.
What we do not do
- No Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no advertising pixels, no session replay, no social-media widgets. You can confirm this by viewing the page source: no script loads from any domain but ours.
- No cookie banner, because there are no tracking cookies to consent to.
- We do not sell, rent or share visitor or contact data with anyone.
Tools that run in your browser
CBECS Explorer, the psychrometric chart, the fault library, the readiness quiz, the data-unlock board and the interactive 3D models (the school, the campus plant and the air handler) all run entirely in your browser. What you type or do in them is not sent to us unless you submit one of the forms below, in which case your result summary, or in a 3D model the day, the faults switched on and the figure on screen, accompanies the message.
The interval data checker in the fault library reads the file you choose inside your browser. The file is never uploaded, stored or sent to us. If you send the form beneath the results, the message carries only the summary figures on screen (the meter column’s name, the reading interval and number of days covered, the peak and average load, the load factor, the night floor, the weekend share and the after-hours estimate with the hours and rate you set), not your meter data.
Contact and quiz forms
- The contact form, the readiness quiz’s “Send me this summary”, the 3D models’ “Send me this” form and the interval data checker’s form collect your name, work email, organisation, an optional phone number, your message and the page you were on, together with your IP address and browser string for abuse prevention.
- Submissions are stored encrypted in our AWS account for 24 months, then deleted automatically, and are emailed to info@pelorusengineering.com so a person can reply.
- We use them only to answer you. Sending a form does not subscribe you to anything.
- A link from one of our own tools to the contact page may carry a short tag naming that tool (for example “school-3d”). It travels with your message so we know what you had been looking at; it identifies the tool, not you.
- The form endpoint accepts requests only from our own sites and is rate-limited.
Product accounts
If you use Energy Agent or Utility Bill Analyzer, the data you upload is covered by the security page linked above and by your agreement with us.
